Scattered across the Andaman Sea off Thailand’s west coast, the Similan Islands National Marine Park includes 9 paradisiacal islands, waiting to be explored. The archipelago is renowned for its stunning above water beauty, as well as pristine coral reefs below, and provides a sanctuary for countless marine species. No wonder it is considered one of the world’s best diving locations!
Your guide will pick you up from your port of call and transport you to the pier. From here you will travel by speedboat out to the Similan Islands National Marine Park to our first stop for the day at Ba Ngu Island. With its spectacular granite shoulder, the reef here is particularly impressive and you will have time to snorkel and explore its magnificent underwater world.
We will then travel across to Island No. 8 where you can relax on the white powdery sands or take a short trek to the Sailing Rock - one of the Similan Island’s most impressive landmarks. Your boat will then cruise through this idyllic archipelago to Mieng Island for lunch at one of the national park’s restaurants.
After lunch, you can sun bathe on the beach, swim in the warm, crystal clear waters, or visit a small exhibition house to learn more about the islands. Not only are the Similan Islands renowned for their marine life, but they also provide a refuge for a number of bird species, including the Nicobar Pigeon and Pied Imperial Pigeon. So keep an eye out for these as you explore!
Before departing for Phuket, we will make one final snorkeling stop at another beautiful reef, renowned for its colorful marine life. Then it’s time to just relax on board and enjoy the journey home, arriving back at your port of call around 5pm.
